Here is a users' guide for MSN/Yahoo Webcam Recorder, which will help you record msn/yahoo webcam stream video.
oRipa MSN Webcam Recorder is the easiest and fastest way to record MSN webcam streams of your chat partner to the PC for replay in future. Just press the record button as the MSN webcam is connected, and the video streams are saved as high quality AVI files in your preset folder. You can watch it in any player (e.g. Real, Windows Media Player, etc.) and at anytime you like.

oRipa Yahoo Webcam Recorder is a handy tool to record Yahoo webcam video and audio of chat partner to your PC hard disk so you can replay it in future. Just press the record button as the Yahoo webcam is connected, and the video streams are saved as media files in your preset folder. Basic Recording procedures
1. Run oRipa Yahoo Webcam Recorder/oRipa MSN Webcam Recorder as the webcam is connected.
2. Choose the directory you would like to save your video (eg. Save your video to the desktop).
3. Press the record button at the bottom right of the software when you would like to start recording.
4. Press the stop button at the bottom right of the software to stop recording. You will see your video is saved in your preset directory (e.g. desktop).
Note:
You can adjust the recording settings (e.g. Frames per Second, Frame Size, audio properties) to get your designed output. Please refer to the Video and Audio settings for more details.
When the Yahoo/MSN Webcam Recorder is running and the webcam is connected, the icon at the bottom right of the pc will blink. As you press the record button in the software, this icon will speed up blinking, which means the program is recording the webcam streams. The icon will slow down when you stop recording, and will disappear when the webcam is disconnected.
Record and Stop Buttons
Press the record icon button to record the webcam streams after webcam is successively connected.
Press the Stop icon button to stop the recordings.
Your recorded webcam streams are saved in the defaulted folder or the newly set folder.
"Use default video settings" button
We have defaulted set the video parameters to 320 X 240, 25 FPS and MPEG4 compression format, which will generate a high quality video output. Just press the "Use default video settings" button. It will save you time and effort on setting the video parameters.
Frame Size (Height & Width)
oRipa Yahoo/MSN Webcam Recorder's default frame size is: Height 320; Width: 240. Just press the "default size" button to set the frame size to 320 X 240.
You can also set the frame size to 800 X 600, 512 X 384 or any other sizes you would like the output video to be. The best frame size for the output video is the one close to the original webcam streams.
Frames per Second (FPS)
oRipa Yahoo/MSN Webcam Recorder's default FPS is 25
oRipa Yahoo/MSN Webcam Recorder supports FPS ranging from 10 to 40.
Tips:
Normally, 15 to 30 FPS is perfect to generate smooth playback of recorded webcam streams.
Video Compression Settings
You can real time compress the webcam streams so to make the output media files smaller and not occupy too much disk space.
oRipa Yahoo/MSN Webcam Recorder supports many video compression formats (e.g. mpeg4, divx, window video1, intel indeo etc.).
oRipa Yahoo/MSN Webcam Recorder's default compression format is mpeg4 (if you do have MPEG4 codec installed in your computer). You can select your favorite compression format from the compression draw-down menu.
Disable Video Compression
You can press the "Disable Video Compression" button to uncompress the output video. The quality of the uncompress video is better than the compress video, but the uncompress video's file size is larger.
"Use default audio settings" button
We have defaulted set the audio parameters to stereo, 16bit 44kHz and MP3 audio compression format, which will generate a high quality audio output. Just press the "Use default audio settings" button if you are not familiar with audio settings.
"Record without Audio" button
Press the "Record without Audio" button for not recording the sound
Select a Sound Card
Choose the sound card your PC currently running for recording the audio if needed.
Audio Properties
Click on the boxes of "Audio Properties" to set the sound output (e.g. 16 bits, 44kHz and stereo).
Audio Compression
You can real time compress the sounds to make the output media files smaller if you would like to record for a long time.
oRipa Yahoo/MSN Webcam Recorder supports many audio compression formats (e.g. PCM, MPEG Layer-3, Micro ADPCM etc.).
oRipa Yahoo/MSN Webcam Recorder's default audio compression format is MPEG Layer-3. You can pick your favorite compression format from "select a compression code" draw-down menu.
Disable Audio Compression
You can press the "Disable audio Compression" button to uncompress the output audio. The quality of the uncompress audio is better than the compressed audio.
